The United Kingdom is ready to advance with using the full worth of frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to participate in talks.

They further noted that the move would be executed in close cooperation with the US.

British penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government began its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, money provided to Ukraine using Russia's assets had exclusively been taken from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were aligned in their aim to push forward toward utilizing the full value of the immobilized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He added that more measures soon would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This declaration is subsequent to EU representatives convened in the Danish capital last week to consider using frozen Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump encouraged international partners to take or employ frozen Russian assets, according to media sources.

The total of seized Russian funds in the EU is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government carried out extensive aerial attacks all over Ukraine on recently, causing blackouts in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and eight other regions.
