Ex- Physician Faces Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician has been charged with carrying out assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
