People have come together across the country to remember the second anniversary since the Hamas-led attack on 7 October 2023, as negotiations advanced in Egypt over a conclusion to the war in the Gaza Strip.

The assault led to over 1,200 people dead and 251 others captured away to Gaza as prisoners. It was the uniquely most fatal day for Jews since the World War II.

Israel responded by launching a armed campaign in Gaza which has killed in excess of 67,000 people, based on figures from the territory's Hamas-controlled health ministry. Its statistics are considered accurate by the United Nations and other global organizations.

"The violent adversaries have hit us hard, but they have not broken us," Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday.

He also vowed to "accomplish all the goals of the war: the release of all the kidnapped, the removal of the Hamas regime and the guarantee that Gaza will no longer create a danger to Israel".

Commemorative Events Across Israel

The Israeli government rescheduled official remembrance events until October 16th - after the end of the religious holiday season - but ceremonies still took place across the country on that day.

A memorial ceremony for the relatives of people who died in the Hamas assault was organized in Tel Aviv. Organized by the victims' relatives, it was aired throughout Israeli television channels.

Some time earlier, a silent tribute was held across the country.

Ceasefire Meetings in Egypt

Meanwhile, the conflicting parties' negotiating teams convened in the Egyptian tourist destination of the negotiation venue for a second day of mediated discussions to examine the provisions of the proposal.

A high-ranking delegate familiar with the discussions indicated that an night meeting of negotiations began at evening in Egypt.

The representative explained the morning session finished without concrete outcomes, amid conflicting views over the recommended Israeli pullout plans from Gaza and over assurances Hamas wants to guarantee Israel does not restart hostilities after the first phase of the agreement.

He commented that the discussions are "difficult and have still not deliver any real breakthrough," but mentioned that mediators are working hard to close the differences between the both parties.

Essential Points in Talks

  • A lasting truce
  • The exchange of the hostages still held by Hamas for inmates from Gaza
  • The withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza
  • Plans for relief supplies provision
  • After-conflict administration of the area

Civilian Reaction

In the city's Hostages Square previously, young Hagar - whose sibling lived through the attack on the gathering, where hundreds were killed and dozens more were abducted by Hamas militants - explained: "No location seems like home any longer and until all the hostages come back not a single person will be secure."

"Once we see all home again, we can feel relief again. Then we can commence rebuild," she continued.

In front of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's official dwelling in the capital, people congregated to show their support for the loved ones of the captives. Israel reports forty-eight remain in detention in Gaza, approximately twenty of whom are considered to be surviving.

Demonstrator a participant remarked: "We need do any agreement necessary for the hostages to come back home. But we really want assurances that we will be secure."

Research now regularly indicate that around the majority of Israeli citizens prefer the hostilities to finish in exchange for the liberation of the hostages.

Gaza Situation

At the location of Nova festival, mourners came together to remember the victims.

From there, the noise of Israeli air strikes and artillery could be noticed just a few kilometres away in Gaza, where local people indicated the heavy Israeli attacks persisted.

In the main city, attacks were documented in the morning of that day in the western neighborhood, area and zone neighbourhoods and in the eastern area of Sheikh Radwan, as well the settlement to the northwest.

"As the evening falls, the fear arrives with it," evacuated urban resident a local woman, whose teenage son was lost his life by an Israeli aerial attack previously, described.

"Me and my three children are afraid of the bombings. All the night we are resting together, clinging, notably my youngest child who rests his head on me the entire evening."

"Constantly we monitor the updates to see developments. And I'm worried that this halt will not be achieved and that the war will return to us."

Medical Crisis

Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City reported it had received the corpses of several people by the afternoon, including three killed in an Israeli strike in the south part al-Sabra neighbourhood.

Nasser hospital in the south region of Khan Younis reported two more victims had been transported. One of them was died by Israeli troops while attempting to get aid to the south, medical staff said.

The territory's health ministry announced a significant number of the {territ
