In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to the podcast host: “I stated I won't manage any other side within the country. Which implies if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”
“Being 58, which suggests I might decide down the line, who knows. Must I choose now? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Pressed on which situations would need to occur to draw him back to the touchline, he confessed he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be during downpours for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews weekly.
“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, yet sharing a meal with the team enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games thus frequently a very good mood in the building. I still have the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears for example.”
Praise for His Successor
Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, crediting him for the adjustments which secured the championship last term. Liverpool have lost four in a row across various tournaments post heavy investment, but he rubbished the idea it could be a slump.
“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, excellent performer. It’s a really good balanced team. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”
Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward
Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The forward lost his life in a car crash with his brother this past summer.
“Who can fill the void of such an individual? It’s not about his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the dressing room absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad as well. Not a single person might employ it for poor performances but it is the situation. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that on a personal level is difficult. Unbearable.”
