The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby features a group of prominent voices from the music world. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a group of talented individuals. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the area was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The song is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
